Welcome to Have a Hoot ~ Read a Book

Welcome to Have a Hoot ~ Read A Book

HAH Intro - WORK IN PROGRESS, please check back at a later date

Meet the Team

Weave

Weave Profile

My name is Paula (I'm also known as 'Weave), I am 38 years old and I hail from Glasgow in Bonnie Scotland. I have been happily married for 14 years, no children (its a working progress ). I have two cats called Dylan (who is 13 years old) and Quinn (who is 5 years old), they are both very spoiled!

I work as a night shift support worker

I started Have A Hoot ~ Read A Book because I wanted a forum that accepted all readers which I think we have achieved here.

I got a kindle for Christmas last year which I love more than I thought I would, I read kindle books and actual books.

My favourite authors are Haruki Murakami, Kelley Armstrong, Markus Zusak, Clive Barker, Stephen King, Natsume Soseki, Margaret Atwood, Richard Matheson, John Ajvide Lindqvist and many more.

I am also a big fan of YA (compared to the YA books that I read when I was a teenager, the calibre of YA writers over the last few years just amazes me). I tend to stick to series as opposed to just reading one book. I enjoyed 'The Hunger Games trilogy' by Suzanne Collins, 'The Forest of Hands and Teeth Trilogy' by Carrie Ryan, 'The Chaos Walking Trilogy' by Patrick Ness, 'The Wolves of Mercy Falls' by Maggie Stiefvater, 'The Mortal Instruments Series' & 'The Infernal Devices Series' by Cassandra Clare and 'The Twilight Saga' by Stephenie Meyer.

Threshold

My name is Nikki, I'm 27 (soon to be 28 eek!) and I am married with a 1 year old daughter. I live in a sleepyish town called Emsworth right on the southern coast, almost opposite the Isle of Wight. I'm the technical administrator for the site but lately my time has been dominated by my little monster! I try to get updates and new features done, but they never seem to happen in a timely fashion! If you see a problem, or think something could do with changing, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am an avid reader, and i love my Kindle. I have recently discovered WattPad on my phone and spend hours reading, normally well into the night. My favourite author is Janet Evanovich, I have to have both her Stephanie Plum and Diesel novels on release date. One day, I'd love to meet her and get my books signed. I have a secret passion for Mills & Boon (but sssh! That's not common knowledge!)

I seem to have a thing for vampires at the moment, I love re-reading The Vampire Diaries series, the Twilight Series (even though I think they're rubbish!), The Morganville Vampires series, Sookie Stackhouse series, and the Undead: Bettsy the Vampire Queen Series. Of course, this now extends to watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Twilight movies, The Vampire Diaries tv series and TrueBlood.

The Vampire Diaries series has opened my eyes to some new music, and at the moment I can't get enough of Holding On and Letting Go by Ross Copperman and Devotion by Hurts

LankyLil

LankyLil Profile

I'm Lankylil and I'm the site moderator. I'm a bossy, gobby & opinionated Christian chick. I'm married, with one son. I spent the first twenty five years of my life in London and Kent. I then moved to Yorkshire in 1991. I love travelling, socialising and hillwalking/hiking (especially in Derbyshire).

I am addicted to reading and my favourite authors include Jane Austen, Elizabeth Gaskell, Stephenie Meyer, JK Rowling, Julie Kawaga, Amanda Hocking, Amanda Grange, Heather Killough-Walden, Melanie Nilles and Jeff Inlo. I do read a lot of fantasy, however, I don't favour any particular genre but tend to choose those books whose blurb captures my interest.

My all time favourite fictional work is Pride & Prejudice (I have been in Love with Darcy since I was 15). My favourite modern series are The iron Fey books by Julie Kagawa (I'm Team Ash), closely followed by The Twilight Saga (Team Edward) by Stephenie Meyer. My favourite poem is "No Coward Soul is Mine" by Emily Bronte.
